Products and grades.
What cumin products does Feronex export?
Whole cumin seed (jeera) only. We supply it in bulk for container buyers and in 100g and 1kg retail packs for brands and distributors. We do not sell cumin powder.
Which grade should I order?
Tell us the destination market rather than a grade. European buyers usually need Grade A Sortex at 99.5 percent purity with 0.5 percent admixture. Gulf, Singapore, Malaysia and Africa typically clear on 99 percent machine-cleaned at 1 percent admixture.
What is the difference between Sortex and machine-cleaned?
Machine cleaning removes stalk, dust, stone and under-size seed mechanically. Sortex adds electronic colour and shape sorting, which pulls out discoloured and damaged seed a machine cleaner leaves behind. Sortex costs more and is what tight European specifications require.
Is the crop always new season?
Yes. We quote new crop only. Old-crop cumin is cheaper but has lost volatile oil, and buyers notice it in the aroma within a season.
Can you match a competitor's specification sheet?
Send it across. If a parameter is outside what our belt can hold in a given season we will say so before you commit, rather than shipping against a number we cannot meet.
Quality and testing.
Can you provide lab reports before purchase?
Yes. The laboratory analysis for your specific lot is shared before the container is sealed, not after payment. If the numbers do not suit you at that point, the lot does not ship.
Which parameters do you test?
Moisture, purity and admixture as standard. Aflatoxin, pesticide residue, volatile oil, salmonella and total plate count through an accredited third-party laboratory, with the panel set against your destination market's limits.
What moisture level do you ship at?
Maximum 7 percent. Above 8 percent the lot sweats inside the container and arrives with mould, which is the most common reason a cumin shipment is rejected on arrival.
What happens if a lot fails a test?
It is quarantined and retested. It is never blended into a passing lot to average the numbers down. If it still fails you are told and offered an alternative lot.
Can you supply steam-sterilised cumin?
Steam sterilisation can be arranged where a buyer's microbial specification requires it. It adds cost and lead time, so mention it at enquiry stage rather than after the lot is booked.
Orders and pricing.
What is the minimum order quantity?
5 MT for bulk whole cumin. Retail packs start at 500 kg per SKU. LCL trial lots can be arranged for first-time buyers.
How is the price fixed?
Against the prevailing Unjha mandi rate, with our processing, testing and export cost stated separately. Cumin is a seasonal commodity, so every quote carries a stated validity window.
How fast can samples be dispatched?
Within 72 hours of specification confirmation, with that lot's own analysis attached so you are comparing the report to the seed in your hand.
How long from order to sailing?
Roughly 10 to 14 days for processing, lab testing and container stuffing once grade and payment terms are confirmed, then port-to-port transit on top.
What payment terms do you work on?
Advance TT for first orders, or an irrevocable letter of credit at sight through a prime bank. Terms for repeat buyers are discussed once a shipping history exists.
Shipping and packing.
Which port do you ship from?
Mundra Port, Gujarat. Every Feronex container is stuffed and sealed there.
Do you support FOB, CIF and DAP?
Yes. We quote FOB Mundra, and CIF or DAP to most destination ports. On CIF we arrange freight and marine insurance.
How much cumin fits in a container?
A 20 ft container holds roughly 18 to 19 MT loose in 25 kg bags, or 16 to 17 MT palletised. A 40 ft holds roughly 26 to 27 MT loose, or 24 to 25 MT palletised.
Can packing be customised?
25 kg and 50 kg food-grade PP or jute bags as standard. Vacuum packing, palletising and retail pouches are available on request. Every bag is batch-coded.
What documents travel with the shipment?
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, laboratory analysis report and FSSAI licence copy. Fumigation and insurance certificates where required.

Where is Feronex based?
Our registered office is in Mumbai, Maharashtra. We procure at Unjha mandi in Gujarat and from the Jalore and Barmer belt in Rajasthan, and ship through Mundra Port.
Are you a trader or a processor?
We buy directly at the mandi rather than through a commission agent, and handle cleaning, grading, testing, documentation and shipment ourselves. We are not a mandi broker passing on someone else's lot.
What certification do you hold?
FSSAI licensing for food handling and export, along with IEC registration, GST and Udyam registration. Copies are shown on the homepage and available on request.
